WALKING WITHIN THE FRAME
Walking within the frame (WWF) is a senso-digital walking performance which the audience experiences independently in nature through a site-specific, unique performance application and phone. The phone acts as the guide, companion, and performer. The piece explores freedom, ownership, and home. It plays with the notion of conquest, proposing various human-nature-technology oppositions and power dynamics.
Premier in Oulu2026 Europian Capital of culture program.
The piece is a Nordic collaborative project began in 2018, focusing on climate, the body, and nature within a technological framework.
Artistic directors are Maria Oiva and Kristina Junttila (Ferske Scener, Tromsø, NO).

Walking within the frame in Bodø
The performance was part of the BODO2024 European Capital of Culture program in August. Produced by Ferske Scener, Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskus, and Bodo2024.
2023
Kävelyn tiellä.
Main program of Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskus 2023. Performance location: Viikki Arboretum, Helsinki. Co-production with Ferske Scener. The performance was created in collaboration with Zoneatlas, a company developing interactive map services, which continues to be a partner.
2022
Talking in the Rain: An Entertaining Show About the Weather.
Part of Moving in November festival 2020. The piece was also performed in Norway. The performance took place remotely via messaging and Zoom, framed by material in the form of a personal postal package and its contents. Produced by Todellisuuden tutkimuskeskus, Ferske Scener, and Moving in November.
Walking within the frame on senso-digitaalinen vaellusesitys, jonka katsoja kokee luonnossa itsenäisesti, paikkasidonnaisen, uniikin
esityssovelluksen sekä -puhelimen kautta. Puhelin on katsojan opas, reissukaveri ja
esiintyjä. Teos leikkii valloituksella ja tutkii vapautta, omistajuutta ja kotia,
ehdottaen kokijalle erilaisia ihminen – luonto – teknologia -vastakkainasetteluja ja hallintasuhteita.
Kyseessä on yhteispohjoismainen, 2018 alkanut projekti, joka käsittelee ilmastoa,
ruumista ja luontoa teknologisessa viitekehyksessä.

Talking in the Rain: An Entertaining Show About the Weather, Liikkeellä Marraskuussa -festivaali 2020. Teosta esitettiin myös Norjassa. Esitys tapahtui fyysisesti etäällä viestien sekä Zoomin kautta.
